16-Zone Smart Sprinkler Controller, Wi-Fi Connectible Smart Irrigation System With Automatic Water Timer

I have found this thing to be about as smart as it gets when it comes to appropriate watering.

Sometimes controler does not show zone watering, so if I do a manual run the Zone that was watering will not be complete, shoulden have to go look to see if it's complete, sometimes if you go out and come back in it will show but then Sometimes it shows the wrong zone watering, if it shows. Rain sensor need to show when activated or not, under sensors tab and can you make a manual advance to like skip a Zone on a scheduled run. Why is my app saying next run on the 21st which is Friday when it is scheduled for Monday Wednesday and Saturday the app gets its day mix up

I love what my mom irrigation system is supposed to do. the bad thing is it doesn't. says it's watering one place when it's watering another, says it's going to water tomorrow but it's not set up to water tomorrow so it doesn't but why did it say it was going to. The manual run from the overview screen sometimes will not manual run it will pop off the good thing is I can get it to manual run from the Zone screen love everything is supposed to do it just doesn't maybe you need a new, what are they call IT person. Please update and fix these problems I have had my system for too long to be still having these problems. SORRY, FIX IT

We had a Sprinkl device and they were bought out so we were able to get a free replacement with Moen. The set up was straight forward. It occasionally loses connection but the main issue is that the device ignores the rain thresholds and continues to run. I have had to manually turn it off many times even though the app shows the rain accumulation and checking the threshold settings.

I had high hopes for the new Moen controller after Sprinkl was bought out. Setup was easy, user interface fairly straightforward, app with loads of features. But unfortunately the firmware/software backbone is buggy and at best unstable. If internet connection is lost (which happens frequently where we are), the controller requires a manual reset at the panel, re-login to the app, and manual reconnection to our network. It seems to maintain schedule while “offline”, but no control, changes, or monitoring of the system is possible until fully reset. Not an issue if home, but when traveling not ideal. The app has great features for sure but is quite unhappy if logged in for too long and will not respond without a logout, close, reopen, login, start again. It has so much potential, but I miss the simple reliability of Sprinkl…

I read and have many of the same issues as the other reviewers. I was provided the Moen 16 zone controller as a replacement to my 16 zone Sprinkl device, which I absolutely loved from both a device and customer service perspective. The Moen 16 zone controller I was provided does not stay connected to my network (drops multiple times per day sometimes) even tho it’s set in the same location as my previous Sprinkl controller. I have both a main Wi-Fi router available signal with a booster within 20’ of the unit. In addition, the rain skip does not work. Period. Full stop. We just had 1.5” of rain the evening before and the app does not log/recognize it and the system runs regardless. I have changed reporting stations (was using the same default station as for Sprinkl) and no change in operation. I was spoiled by my Sprinkl system as it was a true set and forget. Really disappointed that the “new” controller has so many issues, design wasn’t well thought out (conduit connection lacking) and its operation is not reliable.

i have setup my zones and randomly the unit keeps complaining either high voltage/ Low voltage or a short in my zones. sometimes i can manually run a zone it complained about fine. Even though the voltage check disable option is there in the app it wont disable. sometimes randomly drops zones complaining a short. switched it back to the rainbird manual dumb controller and all the zones work as expected. Sent an note to support and the troubleshooting steps i was given was to fix the wiring :( why would i fix wiring of a working system.

First, the soil sensors work well. Accurate, reliable, no problems. As for the rest, Moen has some debugging to do before anyone would want invest in this system. Schedules just don't work right. Weather skips when the weather report does not call for it. Soil moisture skips cause the entire schedule to skip even for zones without a sensor. The app often shows a scheduled or manual run when one is not actually happening. Sometimes a zone gets stuck running until the controller is unplugged.

The physical equipment and installation all seem just fine. However, the app is incredibly buggy from installation to general use. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app just to get the controller setup in the first place. I need to restart the app constantly to get the zones to run properly. I am still unable to create a watering schedule. I would not recommend this product at all at this time.
