Out of the box, I’m really excited about this wall sconce. The matte black finish looks beautiful against the brushed gold accents, and the modern transitional style will work perfectly in my boys’ room as a reading light. I love that the swing arm adjusts easily so they can rotate it while reading. The only thing I wish is that the lamp head swiveled, so it could be angled instead of just providing downlighting—but that wasn’t advertised, and I didn’t consider it when ordering, so no need to deduct stars for that. I can’t speak to the hardwiring just yet, since we plan to mount it and use a smart bulb until we finish trimming out their room. At that point, we’ll hardwire it. It’s a beautiful light. It’s just about half the size I expected it to be. For 100 dollars I expected it to be larger. They do put the size dimensions, which is my fault, but I do think the photos they have advertising it looks about 8-10 inches wide in those photos. I submitted for a refund and it went to another screen asking if I would take a 20 percent refund or I’d like to proceed with the return and have to pay shipping so I just took the discount. For 80 dollars it’s a better deal and I won’t have the hassle of returning.
