It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. Very nice fan! Sleek, lightweight, and the remote is easy to understand. Exactly as it looks. Some fans wobble quite readily, but this one is built to be steady (follow the instructions carefully). We used the longer down-rod, supplied, and the fan barely shifted, even on the highest speed. Note... if you currently have a fan that has 2 wall switches, you will need to consider that, as this fan is built for ONE wall switch, then both the fan and light work off of the remote.
