Bought it place along the baseboard of the long hallway, so I can see the floor in the dark. I keep the remote in the LR, I bought the compatible wall mounted touch pad for the end of the hallway to turn it off. Better than turning on the overhead light, and I don't have to get up, turn on light, then go back to LR or kitchen to turn off lights in those rooms.
