I received this aluminum ceiling fan in a timely manner. It is white just like I ordered. Not very heavy and comes with remote control for the fan and the lights. From what I have been reading the fan can operate with lights on or off. I love this feature because it is similar to the one in the primary bedroom. The fan can run without the lights being on if that is the preference. Some of the fan blades can be removed and still run. I need an electrician to come and install for me. This modern white fan is so much better looking than our outdated brown fan! It is sleek and since we have it attached to switches in our bedroom, we didn't even need to install the pull-chains. It is like a spotlight....shines directly downward and does not emit any light to the sides so basically we just have one spotlight in the middle of our room. I purchased this ceiling fan almost a year ago, and I’m still amazed by how much air it moves. I installed one in my open-concept living room and another in my bedroom, both with vaulted ceilings, and they do an outstanding job. It’s also very well made, operates extremely quietly, and offers three lighting options ranging from bright daylight to a warm, soft light. Assembly was a bit time-consuming because of the number of screws, but the installation was straightforward and absolutely worth the effort.
