We replaced the original cover because it had grown algae in the seams despite our best efforts to keep them clean. At first, we weren’t sure because it is SO much lighter than the original cover that we doubted it would hold up to severe winds, let alone milder weather, keep its temp but it absolutely does! This lift is similar to ones I have had in the past. Installation is straightforward. I prefer this design for it carries the load at a lower point and keeps the cover further away from the spa. Just because the sun goes down doesn't mean the pool party has to stop. In fact, swimming after dark might be just the right temperature after those hot summer days. To keep your swimming pool illuminated at nighttime, there are few options better than the Intex 28690e 3-color changing solar-powered auto-on LED floating pool light. This light has both a regular white light mode and a setting that rotates between 6 fun colors, and best of all, it floats right on top of the water. This floating pool light isn't powered by batteries that you have to replace constantly. Instead, this swimming pool light is solar-powered, meaning it recharges during the day when it's not turned on simply by soaking up the power of the sun. When the sun goes down, you can use the auto-on mode so it will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off again at dawn. To save power, this pool light will shut itself off after 2 hours in static mode and after 5 hours in color-changing mode.

This light is awesome! I put it in the pool to charge during the day. At night, it lights up the water, so you can see the pool from end to end, top to bottom. The only issue is it's small enough to get pulled into the tunnel for the skimmer basket. So, I have to keep plucking it out of there. But I'm very impressed with the lighting effect. Be prepared for assembly. You'll need the following: spray dish soap for lubrication, a rubber mallet and a phillips-head screwdriver. Fortunately, it's only four screws, the rest is like putting together a Lego set. It just takes some serious pounding with the rubber mallet to get the pieces to go together, and I mean serious pounding. Just fair warning. The dish soap helps to get things going. The soft top is an amazing foam cover that is not easily affected by the chemicals found in hot tubs. This soft top does not absorb water unlike most foam covers on the market. The foam cover is 1/4" thick and comes in a roll which you can trim to custom-fit the shape of your spa. The floating cover floats on top of the spa water to retain heat and condensation. To obtain the utmost in energy efficiency, use the soft top with a rigid, hardcover; the dead air space that forms between the two covers provides excellent protection against heat loss. Compared to commonly used solar blanket material, the soft top insulate far better and will last much longer.
