Love the lamp, just as described. The wood is cherry, which is ok but I think I could sand it down and refinish it which I will probably end up doing. The only small drawback is the ambiance it creates when only the lamp is on. It literally gives the feel of a big spotlight. I suppose this shouldn’t be a surprise so I’m going to be reasonable and give it 5 stars. Love the look and overall feel it gives; a nice statement piece!

The best lamp for my bachelor pad I could have ever found. It gives off great light and adjusts to a nice tall height. It reminds me of an antique submarine.It's exactly what I wanted.

Love the light! It looks beautiful, and gives off a surprisingly nice medium softhard light from its exposed bulb (which is softened by the reflective surface in the back of the lamp). It is lighter weight than I expected. This is probably a good thing but I was kind of hoping for a heavier lamp. The knurled hand-tighten knobs to adjust the legs and open the lamp-head work fine, but also feel a bit more light weight than I’d expect as well. Overall a great product and glad I purchased.
