Mega sharp over many uses (so far). Whether I am chopping veg for my rescue parrots, or cutting up a rack of St. Louis Ribs, this knife makes it so easy. The handle is exceptionally grippy, with an ergonomic groove for the thumb; and I really like the balance. Its much heavier than the Santoku knife it replaced (that came with a moderately-priced kitchen knife set), and I enjoy that heft...it keeps me aware of what a sharp implement I have in my hand.
