The rectangular shape of this pan was inspired by the Japanese makiyakinabe pans that are used for rolled omelets called tamagoyaki. The rectangular omelet can be filled and rolled evenly and then cut into slices with an identical diameter. The handle is beautiful but it is a wear out over time design. It has a metal rod that connects inside. Not as durable as a regular solid handle.
