As life has decided to keep me amazingly busy this summer with work and responsibilities I'm so happy to say my recent Maiden voyages with my new 16 qt Presto digital has been exciting and interesting comparing the 16 qt to my 12 qt. I was happy to see the laminated sheet from my 12 qt was very similar to the new 16 qt. The cord is attached and is very long. I felt this was good to reach bigger distance to the outlets but I'm spoiled at removing the cord on my 12 qt. No inner pot on the 16 qt is a bit more work for me in washing it at the sink and dealing with the long cord cuz the removable pot in the 12 quart is very light and easy at the sink. I'm curious if Presto could attach a bracket that we could wrap the cord around on the back side of the unit. I loved the louder beeps on the 16 qt as my 12 qt is very quiet. I found the three quart "fill line" on the 16 qt to be barely visible and as I fill from my water faucet I hope the measure line would be more dominant. The little black plastic "over pressure" plug will be easy to lose and tricky for my arthritic hands to put in and take out. I did discover it goes on easier if pushed in from below. I love the fact that the Beeper kept beeping after I put the regulator on which helps me to remember to hit the advanced button. Also glad the quick start guide put a reminder on it that the black plug should be in the unit for pressure canning. I've always been intimidated by the Vintage type "jiggly jiggly" type canners and as much as the new 16 quart look similar but seems lighter I'm so excited to be using this unit more and more as my life starts to slow down. I love that it's a large 7 quart size because when I use a slow cooker I love to make extras so that I have leftovers. I recently cooked a pot roast in it and was able to throw in lots of carrots and potatoes because of its roomy size. This model has a unique feature of a locking lid and it's great for traveling so that nothing spills while it's in the back of your car. The lid is really nice quality and has a rubber ring around it so you can get a nice seal while cooking. It's easy to program and start in the morning so you have dinner ready later that evening. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Compared to past slow cookers models I’ve had, this one is much more uniquely designed. Set up is more than easy and there aren’t a bunch of miniature pieces to clean. Personally I clean mine after each use instead of allowing the food to sit so it doesn’t create that harsh buildup around the edges. The best part about the slow cooker to me is the auto warming feature. Past appliances I’ve used, some would require that I manually change the temperature. I don’t feel pressured to have to check my meals every 5 minutes since the feature is in place. The party dipper is a hit too!
