Their quality placemats and coasters use a 5mm board topped with a unique and exclusive art print. Each is totally sealed with a high quality coating that is both stain and heat resistant to 212°C. The placemats and coasters are then finished with a hard-wearing cork back that protects precious furniture.

The matching coasters for the Pimpernel pattern that we chose for our placemats are no longer available so we chose these as the best complements to them and they are a perfect Plan B choice. Glad to have found them!. Debi. Vienna, VA. Sat Feb 18 2023

Cozy up your home with design, texture and color! Our artisan-made eco-friendly wool coasters protect your table and countertops from hot or cold beverages while looking beautiful, naturally. This set offers four tonal colors in mustard hues. These are also handy to keep drinks straight; each guest gets their own color! Crafted from fine New Zealand wool and azo-free dyes using age-old techniques. Handmade in Nepal by a Fair Trade women's cooperative. Care: Spot clean as needed. Do not machine wash or dry. The Art of Felting: The first step to creating these beautiful felt pieces begins with gathering some of the worlds finest sheeps wool from New Zealand. Making felted wool is an ages-old, time-consuming process of bonding fabric with fiber. This is a physical job where the artisans scrub, rub, roll and rinse the wool again and again with soapy water. Once the wool is bound into a sheet and the desired thickness is complete, the felt is laid out to dry. From there, the felt wool is cut and re-worked into many complex shapes and designs. The many sheets of wool might merge several colors to create patterns and layers. This takes a well-trained, talented artisan and is a true labor of love. The end results are colorful, one-of-a-kind textiles that are stunning to behold.

I have to be honest that I was leery about ordering wool coasters, but I loved the colors they match my decor. I was pleasantly surprised. They are about 12 thick, and I put them to the test right away. I put a glass of ice water that was guaranteed to sweat and left it until it quit sweating. It did not soak through! The wool coaster actually dried quickly as well. My only negative comment is that it would probably not be a good idea to use these coasters under delicate stem ware. The texture of these coasters may cause a lightweight glass to tip. For everyday use, they are perfect. Moisture does not collect on top and roll onto the table like some porcelainclay products, and they are definitely more attractive than cork and will not warp over time like cork does. I would buy these coasters again!. Laurel. Sapulpa, OK. Sat Jan 04 2025
