The Mikasa French Countryside flatware set is a quaint design, versatile enough to coordinate with multiple decorating styles. It has a highly polished finish which I plan to hand wash and dry most of the time, although Im sure it would hold up well in the dishwasher. The weight and balance is good, but I find it slightly more cumbersome to use than another set I have. In my pictures I show another older European sized set that is slightly larger, and a vintage set that I consider human sized, along with the Mikasa set in the center. I have always disliked the fussiness of most utensil sets with the two sizes of forks and two sizes of spoons. I understand why they come that way, but it also seems to come from the era of people picking out wedding china patterns - save it for grandma's house. So when I found this set with just one size of each, I was super happy. I will say that the spoons are probably a true teaspoon size, and I wish they were larger; they feel very undersized and out of scale with the fork and knife.
