Just as described, and works as expected. Arrived quickly. The set is a little bigger than I thought it would be, but I don't consider that a bad thing. The finish is somewhat rough, as with most cast iron items. It needs to be placed on a pad or coaster so it won't scratch countertops. But this rough texture works very well for grinding herbs/seeds. The pre-seasoning seems to wear off a bit on the end of the pestle, but I've been drying it thoroughly and rubbing some oil on it after washing, and so far I haven't had any problems with rust.. I like the heaviness of this mortar and pestle. I use it a lot. I am using it for smashing garlic, grinding cumin and other spices and herbs. I am learning other uses for this too. It is a good size.
