Alessi Tea Kettles

The 9091 kettle has a melodic whistle made of brass in a shape that has never been seen before and consists of two small vents in which the tuners that reproduce the notes mi and si are inserted. Richard Sapper created this kettle inspired by a childhood remembrance, the poetic sound of boats' sirens at the River Rhine: This is because the melody that accompanies the vapor outlet must be pleasant and not anxious like the whistle of boilers. This induction kettle is a polysensory object that will not interrupt an enjoyable break with a whistle but with a captivating melody.

Naoto Fukasawa is a Japanese product designer. Fukasawa collaborates with world-leading companies and brands. He also works as a consultant for major international manufacturers. Winner of numerous awards, including the 2018 Isamu Noguchi Award. He published a few books, the recent one is 'Naoto Fukasawa Embodiment' (Phaidon). Since 2012, he is the Director of Nihon Mingei-kan (The Japan Folk Crafts Museum).

The kettle mixes different cultural aspects: The phenomenon of basketball and its multicultural imagery, an integral part of Abloh's personal history, with the world of design and its codified references. The whistle is completely redesigned, taking the form of a basketball player who crushes with power to the basket, while the colors of the handle and the knob are lit with an intense purple. The polyamide knob and handle insulate the hand from heat, allowing easy handling of the kettle. The knob design allows the kettle to be conveniently opened and closed, making it easy to fill.

The kettle with the little bird designed by Michael Graves is presented in a new, smaller size and in two new colours, taken directly from its creator's historical palette. Designed in the early 1980s, it has spanned four decades, always presented in new versions: an object that has never ceased to amaze, intercepting consumer tastes the way only an icon can.

Beautiful, sleek design and a nice weight to the metal. I took off one star because the dragon on top is just plastic. Pretty disappointing because that’s what sets this kettle apart from others. Pito is a stainless steel kettle designed by Frank Gehry. The melodic top and the handle in mahogany have the stylized shape of two darting fishes. The melody produced by the whistle is likewise peculiar, it sounds like a whale's song. Gehry turned a kitchen utensil into a fascinating poetic object.

Il Conico induction kettle is the architectural derivative created by Aldo Rossi: made of stainless steel 18/10, it is the transformation of his geometric designs into a kitchen object, that soon became a design icon. This conical kettle makes a striking statement in any kitchen.

Attractive kettle. I wanted a minimalist kettle that visually stands out, and this is exactly it. That handle is uninsulated, but the kettle seems to have enough thermal mass that the handle doesn’t get hot unless you make a number of back-to-back batches of hot water.
