This hot plate burner is really nice. It heats up quickly and when one is done and you turn it off it has a display that says hot until it has cooled down sufficiently. My stove had one burner go out so this will be a nice addition to the kitchen where I can have four burners going at the same time rather than 3 which was inconvenient as I always needed all four burners when doing a large meal. The knob on the front turns it up and down. Plug it in, hit the right button to turn on. Hit the left button to get temp going and then turn the dial on the front to adjust up or down. Happy with the induction plate so far. The only thing that is is missing is is an actual temp read out instead of pre programed selection of numbers from 1-9 where the default temp selection is 5. This is my first induction stove so I am still leaning about it. However, I do like the quick heating response, and the fact I know it's using less power is great. I like the flat surface that doubles as more counter work space and ease of cleaning. And so far, I have been able to use all of my cookware on the stove. It is not as selective as I was led to believe. The cycling on and off takes a bit to get used to because when the stove cycles off, it stops cooking momentarily and there is not a lot of residual heat to keep the food cooking as in radiant stoves. Also the buttons are really sensitive and when wiping up spills, it is easy to turn the stove off. Overall, I am very pleased with the stove and look forward to cooking more dishes on it.. With the exception of boiling water at power “10”, there's no need to exceed power “3” for impeccable cooking without altering oil or butter, while power “6” is ideal for searing meats without burning them (and never set over "8" for frying). Works wonderfully well with hybrid pans (such as Henckels Paradigm, HexClad or Paderno) up to 30 cm in diameter, and without generating any Hot Spot, as it happens all too often with other induction cooktop. Easy to clean, accurate probe, fair price, convenient cord length, I couldn't do without it ! The only irritant is that the heights of the legs are not independently adjustable, so you have to find a level surface for it to spread the oil evenly in a pan (which is relatively easy in the kitchen, but not so easy on the terrace) !.
