Although the main crock pot seems a bit bulky and heavy, it did not disappoint. The beans turned out flavorful and surprisingly tender, and I enjoyed setting and forgetting it as I went about my day. The smaller party dipper was actually great for warming and maintaining the stew. Touch controls are reasonably sensitive and respond without unwanted changes. Unfortunately the outside of the ceramic insert arrived scratched, the packaging was sufficient so I can only assume it occurred before it was boxed up. Does not affect functionality but took away from the sense of newness for the appliance. I did read the instructions and found it completely unreasonable that the insert is listed as top rack dishwasher safe.
