The item is exactly as described and appears as shown in the photos. The wood it is constructed of is very lightweight, and the overall quality is ok - I would not say the quality matches the high cost of the item. I selected the inside delivery option, thinking it would be unboxed and placed inside, as other items delivered by that option have been. I guess it is my fault for not reading the fine print, though, as the delivery guys dropped off a massive shipping crate that I had to use a screw driver to open. I then had to remove the item in a shipping box and unpack it. The convenience of having an item arrive fully assembled is significantly lessened by now having a huge, wooden shipping crate sitting in my living room that I now have to figure out how to disassemble and dispose of.. Love this shoe bench. Perfect size for the area I bought it for, the walk through from the garage into the house. Shoes were always left on the floor to trip over and now they can fit neatly in the shoe cubby holes. My husband's size 13 shoes also fit. Love it and highly recommend this product. It took me a while to put together but that was because I kept getting pieces backwards. Totally my error and not due to the instructions. They also included extra pieces which was very thoughtful.
