This dog bed works for me. It is a good size for small dogs. I got it for my 50 lb standard poodle for training purposes (not necessarily for lounging/sleeping in). The cushion is extremely thick and firm which is great. The finish on the wood is odd tho. The stain (?) has an orange undertone but then there is a cool whitewash over that. This wood finish cheapens the look of the bed (especially for the price). It is solid wood underneath so I may just sand it down. The legs are not the same length so it wobbled horribly (even on a rug) when my dog tried to get on it. I had to pad two of the legs. The upholstery is beautiful however there are loose strings everywhere that snag and fray the fabric. Again, cheapening the look especially given the price. The product would have been perfect if the wood finish was more neutral, if the legs were a bit more even and if the upholstery was finished better. The bones of this piece is high quality. Shipped quickly and arrived well packaged. The instructions are easy enough, and it was easy to put together until I got to the backrest. Even with two people, it was a pain. This is the only reason I rated it a 4. It appears there is a piece of foam covering that is under the material across the back, and then it was torn so you can put in the screws. Unfortunately, you have to put them in blindly as you cannot see the holes to line up the screws. A couple of times, had to remove some material from the holes to get the screws in. The zipper on one side broke while unzipping it to get to the backrest screw holes and cannot be reattached (like you could with a jacket zipper). It doesn't affect the function, but for the price, it's just something that should have happened. After all was said and done, it's super cute, the material is really nice, true to color and the couch is sturdy. It could also serve as a toddler couch. My dogs took to it right away.. Elizabeth.
