The gas springs have so much pressure, when I tried to close the lid, it split the wood. I fitted braces to reinforce the wood, then the whole cover started separating as it was held together with glue and cheap staples! I had to buy and fit more braces and re-glue and screw the whole cover together again! This product is ok. It's a little tough to work with, not very flexible and comes wrapped in a coil, like a snake. You have to let it soften up and unwind it before you can work with it. Use your hands to get it to conform to the wood planks. I used drywall screws to hold it in place. Since it was in the ceiling you can't see the screws. I don't think that glue would have worked, too much resistance. It's really expensive for what it actually is, which is a strip of rubber with knobs on it, but it does the job of hiding the seams in my wood ceiling beams and pretending to be wrought iron straps.. Quality construction and well built. The drawers are actually drop down doors and there is only 3 on the shorter version that I purchased not 4 as stated in description. I’m actually liking the drop down doors better than drawers as it maximizing space inside a small compartment and the door hinges and soft close hardware are quality upgrades. Fully assembled was exactly that … open the box and hang the unit. Well packaged with plenty of protection from the rigors of shipping … and they got it out for delivery in very short order.
