Some key pieces in the base have slowly come apart after assembling. Even after using a set torque setting, it came apart and makes a tremendous amount of noise. It has a field of pie-cut swirly-crotch mahogany surrounded by a straight-grain mahogany border. The six perimeter leaves feature swirly-crotch mahogany centers with straight-grain mahogany borders. The outer edge is three-beaded. It has a medium brown mahogany color with a hand rubbed and polished semigloss sheen. The four-leg pedestal has fluted columns and legs which terminate with antique lion's paw brass feet. This is one of the best purchases we have made from Wayfair. It is MUCH nicer in person - super high quality and very durable. We've had this for 5-6 years now and it still looks brand new. The 60" table IS huge - so make sure you have enough room for it, and that whatever area rug you get, allows for chairs to be pulled out for seating.
