I absolutely love this awning. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It is very well priced and looks very pretty. Sorry for the delayed review, but I did need to hire someone to install it. The assembly and install were a little challenging, even for a master electrician. It wasn't the level of difficulty but rather very vague instructions and more than one incorrect picture. However, we prevailed. Warning: DO NOT remove the tape and zip ties from the arms of the hardware. They are spring-loaded and should not be released until the awning has been hung. Otherwise, it'll be like trying to put a cat in a bucket of water. (we were smart about this) To assemble, have a helper on standby to pull the awning through the roller channel while someone else pushes it. A kid can help with this part. One person can assemble the main hardware. To install the brackets to the home, one person is fine as long as they have the correct drill bits and measure correctly. The brackets are great quality; however, they may not sit flush and level to the wall. We placed 2x2 blocks of wood behind each bracket to fill the empty space and make the install strong and level. To install the awning, you'll want a strong teen or adult to assist. They will need to hold one side of the awning and the hardware while standing on a ladder, as both people insert the hardware into the brackets on the structure.. Anonymous. Fri Aug 28 2026

I have a very small patio and it gets so much sun I rarely use it. This was a good solution. I did add curtains (with velcro tabs) and some lights. Theres ONE tricky part when assembling, the part where the legs go into the frame have a slight slant, if theyre not in the correct corners, the legs go every which way! This is a very nice tent! Not quite as elegant as shown in the photos, but if you spend a lot of time lining up all the seams and securing the velcro ties, you can get pretty close. I got this to bring to eventsgatherings where there will be food served or not enough shade. It’s going to be perfect! I can’t wait to try it with string lights. ) The bag is about 41 lbs, but the long straps make it easy(ish) to pack around. The assembly was tricky, and the instructions were vague (at best). When laying the top over, the instructions do not tell you to loop the open hole through the pop-up arms, but you definitely have to. I decided to “trust the process”, but soon realized that was absolutely necessary. So I ended up breaking it down a bit, making the adjustments and then finished the setup. One more note (complaint) but you really do need a second set of hands to extend the tent, or else it moves in inches. Preferably someone with muscle because clicking the side posts took a lot of core strength I do not have. Also, you need to stake it or a slight wind might knock it over. This is a very large 12x12 canopy with a wheeled bag. I missed the fact that it came with a wheeled bag and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. The setup is easy and my only two criticisms are the placement of the Velcro straps on the frame, and the size of the bag. The straps end up looped directly over the hinges on every single one (see photos) so make them loose when you’re setting up the canopy. The bag it comes with barely fits this larger canopy and there is zero extra room if you want to add on the side walls later. I’ll probably get a larger bag. It does the job providing shade. We use two in a 30’ round pool. Nice to not bake in the sun. Stays put on fairly breezy days. My concern is every velcro tab that hold the top to the gazebo frame, has a hole in each corner, where it’s sewn to the fabric. I don’t know how long that will hold up. Why didnt I buy this shade sail earlier I cannot believe how much it has cooled our pool and how much more comfortable we are when we are outside. My 26 yr-old son even commented about how surprised he was when he got in the water today to escape the 96 degree temperature. He was surprised that the water felt cool instead of like a sauna! This shade sail is made of a thick but flexible material that should provide just the right amount of protection from the sun without being a total "sunblock" (or completely waterproof) and the reinforced attachment points on the sail seem sufficiently strong. I haven't yet installed it, but the included kit appears to be very comparable to the separate installation kit I ordered just in case the included kit was flimsier or more difficult to use. This particular brand of sail offered a lot of different size options, which is ideal if you are looking for a sail to fit a space with unequal distances between the triangle points. The sail I ordered measures 20' x 20' x 28.3'. it came with a installation hardware kit but I can't yet comment on whether the hardware kit works well. I also ordered another hardware kit in case I needed a different installation option than the one included. Unfortunately, Wayfair said it delivered both when I never received the additional hardware kit. After waiting 3 days to see if there was a problem with how the item was scanned, I have reported the missing delivery and hope that I will receive that other installation kit so that I can choose which kit will work better for installing the sai..
