It’s vegan leather and my cat immediately poked a hole in the fabric, but she really latched on (she jumped on it not knowing it would be slick and had to catch herself - sigh) but the material is otherwise supple and has a leather feel and look that works really well. The storage area is small, and it’s taller than other ottomans of like size - which is great! Soft to sit on and soft to accidentally kick in the dark. Love it! Love that you can flip top to use as a little Table. However, when you do this it doesn't sit like in a ledge or something (which would be better), so I'm not super confident when I put a plate or drink on it (no spills yet, but be careful). Love the color. I do wish it had a side handle that was with the same color material, that way could pick up easier. Storage inside can hold both of our couch blankets.
