Keep your garbage out of sight anywhere in your home with the 13.2-gallon and 3.2-gallon dual stainless steel motion sensor trash cans from nine stars. These stainless steel trash cans feature motion sensor lids that use infrared technology to automatically open when motion is detected within 10 inches or at a 130-degree angle from the sensor. The lids will then stay open while they sense debris in range, and softly close 3 seconds after you move away. Additionally, manual mode keeps the trash can lids open longer, giving you more time to clean up larger messes with ease. Replaceable ring liners in each trash can hold your trash bag in the bin to keep the bag from falling as you throw away the trash. The receptacle's sleek, stainless steel design doesn't show fingerprints and has a non-skid base to keep your kitchen, bathroom, or office looking its best. The trash cans require 3 C-sized batteries (large) and 2 C-sized batteries (small) for operation. With a sleek design and expert functionality, your home will always feel clean with the 13.2-gallon and 3.2-gallon dual stainless steel motion sensor trash cans from nine stars.

Love my new trash can. The one I had was also from Wayfair, but it was wider and the step to open was in the front. I was tired of retouching the cabinet due to the lid always scuffing it. This one is slim design and taller. Holds the same amount of trash 13 gallons. Only this one opens towards a wall and all I have to do is pull it way from it so it doesn't hit it. I didn't have that option with the other one that is now on by back patio. This is perfect for a small kitchen and not having to give up and trash space. Came quickly too. The trash can looks fancy and has two okay size compartments to separate recyling and regular trash. Just wish it didn’t need batteries to operate. Also, the lid cannot be locked to the can which is a bummer. Anonymous. Thu Oct 22 2026

Brabantia’s NewIcon step can, 7.9 gallons (30L) has an iconic design and is a reliable worker too. Sturdy, and always stands strong because of its non-slip base and anti-tilting block. Thanks to the unique soft-closure feature, it closes smoothly. And of course, this NewIcon step trash can is hygienic, odor-proof, easy to open, and clean. Perfect for your kitchen or any other room that could use 8 gallons of timeless design.

I searched carefully for a trashcan that would both look good in the kitchen and be the right size for a small household (1- 2 people). This one is perfect. I chose platinum because I didn’t want it to be too shiny. It’s tall enough (26 inches) to hold a 13 gal., tall kitchen trash bag, but narrow enough (11.5 inch diameter) that I can still open my cabinets. (See photos.) The capacity is only 8 gallons, but if the bag has a drawstring, it’s easy to make a 13-gal. gal bag fit well. It comes with three 8-gal. bags, but I like to use bigger bags so that I can add other trash to it before I take it out.. Dee. IL. Thu Jul 02 2026
