The desk is solid wood, stained a lovely honey color. It's a perfect fit for my somewhat small and crowded multipurpose room. It is very sturdy and well made. The desktop has ample room for my computer, printer, a telephone modem, and a container of pens & pencils. I love the pullout keyboard tray. It smoothly goes in and out and comfortably holds my keyboard, mouse, and some small office supplies. When the keyboard tray is completely closed, the desk has a very finished and sleek look and the keyboard is completely hidden. I paid Wayfair for assembly and the fee was well worth it. The top is a heavy board that is edge and finger joint glued together and finished in veneer. The legs are also fingerjointed boards. It generally looks nice, but the finish is quite sloppy. there are some rough spots where it was not thoroughly sanded too. I purchased this table because it was on sale.
