These stools are very solid and do exactly what they’re supposed to do. The construction feels sturdy and well-balanced, and the adjustable height mechanism works smoothly. Once assembled, they have a nice weight to them and don’t feel flimsy at all. The industrial pipe design is great in theory, but the finish is not accurately represented in the photos. In person, the metal has a splattered white paint effect that looks more accidental than intentional—almost like they were sitting near someone rinsing paint brushes. It gives a messier appearance than expected and takes away from the otherwise clean industrial look. The color also leans more toward a colonial aqua blue tone, which was unexpected. Unfortunately, it clashes quite a bit with darker cabinetry—especially navy blue—so it didn’t work in our space at all. That said, the underlying build quality is good enough that they’re worth keeping. With a refinished or powder-coated surface, these could easily become a really sharp, high-end looking piece. Seem very heavy duty. I have a fiend that is pushing 300lb and visits regularly, none of my chairs held up to him. These will. Very basic finish workmanship is on par with the price. If you wanted to you could sand re stain and shellac them making them look much more expensive. I am happy with my purchase. They were easy to assemble for me even the the instructions are not very detailed, you must look carefully at the drawings to make sure your orienting things the correct way. First chair took about an hour with unpacking and organizing. Second chair took about 20 min. Don't use impact tools on any bolts that go into the pressed in nuts.
