Me and my husband put the bed together and we got it done in about an hour. Once together we realized that we needed a little more support for our foam mattress because the metal slats were not wide and had to much space between them to give good support. We just put the cardboard the frame came in on top of the frame and it worked great. The frame is very sturdy and i needed that support being over 200 lbs. This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. The frame seems pretty lightweight, but the person putting it together said it's sturdy. I ordered this for a guest bedroom, so it won't be getting daily use. I like the roominess under the bed allowed by the height of the bed frame, which makes it good for storage if you're inclined. The 14" tall frame gives about 12" of space under it.
