I love this bed! It took me 2 days to put it together, (I paid for professional installation however I guess I live to remotely for anyone to put it together.) and all I did was carefully follow the pictures. The corner where the sideboards and the headboard connect have two bolts. The instructions implye that they should be at the same level, such that the corner adapter can slide in hand fasten them together .However they were not. 2) one of the groves on the metal frame could not geip the screw provided. This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. Nice bed, sturdy. This bed replaced another storage bed. The first bed had a floor for the storage space, with space between the storage floor and room floor. This bed did not. I was unsure how I'd like this one. There is quite a bit more space with this one. I chose to put tarp under, but really no need. Love the increased space. I am obsessed with this bed. I did do this partly by myself and that was easy up until adding the side panels to the headboard and then my husband let me use his tools instead of the tiny little "L" thing they include with the kit. Item is exactly as described. My husband was able to assemble it himself without any complaints. I also went with a thicker mattress 16 inches. The hydraulics still work without any issue. I do wish it was taller. That would be way better storage and it would look more expensive. I’d say the top of the back frame reaches my chest level and I am 53. The color is not as all of as the photo maybe a little bit more emerald but if you brush it in different directions, it can go either way. Also, when I lift the mattress, it takes a good amount of strength, so I don’t have to worry about little ones lifting and smashing their fingers. You absolutely must put in the effort to lift..
