While Elixir has crisp, clean lines, character and visual interest are also achieved through the use of texture. Textural interest comes from the use of lightly sand-blasted walnut veneer, the light texture applied to the metal elements with a hand-carved texture added to the surface of select pieces such as the oval mirror and the round dining table. The buffet offers a beautiful carved starburst pattern on the doors.

Few places on earth rival the natural beauty of the Monterey Peninsula in California, where mountains meet the sea. The area has drawn celebrated painters and writers since the 19th century. Today, the small town of Carmel, with its relaxed yet sophisticated lifestyle, has retained its passion for the arts. Barclay Butera draws inspiration from the progression of home design on the coast. The look has evolved from a Spanish mission to a relaxed modern one while maintaining a classic sensibility. The term relaxed modern sounds like a design contradiction, but to Barclay, it suggests a refreshing new direction. Classic lines blend with natural materials and plush textiles to soften the normal edge of modernism for an understated and inviting look. The Carmel collection features a crisp winter-white finish on white oak with rich camel undertones that accentuate grain lines. The look is extremely sophisticated, the vibe is remarkably casual, and the lifestyle conveys the essence of luxury living.

This is a beautifully made bed! We love it.. Karen. La Jolla, CA. Tue May 05 2026

Carstens is a refined dialogue of softness and structure, where warm beige upholstery meets the cool sophistication of textured grey surfaces. The bed’s tailored silhouette introduces a calm focal point, while the case pieces add architectural depth with their matte tiger wood grey finish and sleek black metal accents. The contrast of fabric and textured laminate creates a layered, contemporary composition. Designed as a cohesive retreat, the collection brings quiet balance and modern elegance to the bedroom.
