Pretty easy to build. A little disappointing that the description mentions a curtain that is not included. There was a piece at the foot of the bed where the bottom shelf and bed connect that the hole was not drilled out, you could see it was started but we had to drill it out. The windows could be sewn better because they didn’t survive my toddler, within not even 5 minutes after the bed was done being built the windows were broken. Love the look of the bed, and easy to assemble. As long as your kids decide not to hang or climb the frame, you should be ok. The cutoff in the fabric is cool, but unsure how to secure it and have it stay in place without sewing additional ties/loops, or maybe velcro. To be fair, this could be caused by the way we attached the fabric, unsure. But the picture helps indicate that the flap doesn't reach, allowing it to sway. The lights add nice ambiance, but for us, because the bed is flush against the wall covering the outlet, a slim profile adapter that had the plug for the lights facing down would have been preferred. Also, I am unsure if there is a switch for the lights (couldn't find one), forcing you to unplug them each time. We chose to use an old external battery with an on/off button, but a smart plug would solve this issue. We purchased a Nectar children's mattress that fits perfectly. This bed is super cute for my 3 year old. Assembly was not easy though as the directions for the shelf part had the pieces labeled wrong. But it was definitely worth it in the end. It feels much sturdier than the wood versions and lots of support for the mattress. The bars arent too low at the top either. I plan to put a canopy and lights on. Love it.. Whitney.
