One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . It actually wasn’t 10x10 as advertised, maybe 9x9, and the sun came under the east & west sides, no you were seldom shielded from the sun. So I tried Wayfair after noticing my neighbor’s, got the same one only I ordered the pulldown screens for 2 sides. It also has a louvered metal roof ( huge improvement), we love it! Each end has an elastic to attach to the existing loops on your frame, why not the center too? 2).The original canopy also had tie offs on each end to prevent it shifting back & forth. Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back.
