A butterfly leaf mechanism allows you to easily expand the surface to accommodate larger gatherings or family meals. It also features a two-leaf design that seats up to eight people when fully extended.

Very happy with the table. We wanted an extendable table that held the "leaves" within the table and was round when extended. The "racetrack" shape when the "butterfly wing/leaves" are retracted is cooler than a typical rectangle or oval. I also wanted a near white (but with some contrasting details) stone-like top which is very hard to find in an extendable table. The base appears to be slightly lighter brown in color in person than online, but I prefer that. Ignore the chairs in the pictures; we haven't picked out chairs for the new table yet. The extension mechanism (see photo) works very smoothly, and you can do with one hand and little strength. You can have neither extended, only 1 extended, or both extended which works well for our needs (kid comes home from college, etc). There's a tiny bit of uneven-ness in the height at one end of the leaves when extended, but probably only 2 mm (and maybe fixable if we tried.) Delivery was on time with excellent communication via texts and call and with updates for a narrower delivery window provided. They brought it in and assembled it for us. Happy with the purchase. Other places on-line had similar tables but not the exact same one. In particular, the stone top having the grey details seemed harder to find. The base of this table seems very sturdy yet is not wide enough to get in the way of anyone's legs and we have tall teenage boys. We have not had problems with our legs hitting the "leaves" when they are not extended. It looks and feels like something that cost this much or more. Recommend.. Jennifer. Glen Allen, VA. This table worked perfect for the type of dining room chairs I had. I had chairs that needed to be pushed-in all the way and many of your tables have a support bracket underneath them which impedes the chair from being pushed-in. A pedestal table was the perfect solution for that. Now, all four chairs push in nicely. I found the table to be a little wobbly when you stand up if you're leaning on it. This is a safety issue, so we've put rocks (like another reviewer posted) in the pedestal. I wasn't planning on using it for storage anyway, so it all worked out. I have 30 pounds of river rock in the pedestal. The only other way to rectify the issue would be to bolt the table to the floor, and I wasn't interested in doing that.. Barbara. Ballston Lake, NY. Beautiful, Substantial Table — Just Pay for the Assembly! I absolutely love this table now that it is assembled. The quality is exceptional, and the heavy solid-wood pedestal gives it a substantial, high-end feel. Although the tabletop is MDF, the black finish and visible grain give it the look of cerused oak, so it reads much more like solid wood in person. For everyday use, I keep it at the 38-inch setting, which is perfect for my dining space and comfortably accommodates four place settings. I’m looking forward to extending it to the full 55 inches for holiday dinners. My only criticism is the assembly. This is definitely a two-person job, and the instructions provided were not very helpful. It took us close to four hours, and we ultimately had to find a YouTube video to figure it out.
