Firstly- Wayfair customer service is actually great. They sent me a whole new table after parts went missing in shipment, and even picked up the old incomplete table. Secondly- this review needs a video. It's shocking how easy it is to expand this table- and it looks so continuous- it doesnt suddenly have a completely different grain in the middle. I love that the leaf stays in place and protected- and that i dont have to get everyone's help to extend my table. The table itself is stunning and so easy to assemble. The wood grain is just the most divine color. It looks luxurious and Im in love. One downside to this table that I didnt think about- the legs are not actually getting 19" further apart. The top is expanding- which makes it super easy to expand, but a bit more of a challenge to fit chairs across, as the legs arent getting further apart. So you kind of do need to use small, maybe some elegant folding chairs, when you extend, as a full additional dining chair probably wont fit on each side Lastly- the packaging of the leaflet isn't great. Both tables, the leaflet was bent and partially damaged. We were able to use a rubber mallet to hammer back in place. We were lucky the new table had damage only on the hidden side of the leaflet , but our first table was badly damaged on both sides. oh, and, after Christmas, we had a small hole on the table- not sure what, but kind of seemed like a burn mark. it seems like the top layer of the wood might be fragile and prone to heat damage- I'll just have to wait and see about longevity. For the packaging, legs, and potential fragility of the top surface, im giving 4 stars to an almost perfect table. After all, the legs issue is probably a problem with all built in leaflet tables, but just one i never thought about before, and one that really hinders seating of large parties. I missed two delivery windows because I was not aware it came with white glove service even if you didnt request it. The first table came very damaged so they sent a replacement. That also had a minor paint issue and the hinges to extend the table did not work 100 I eventually worked out a compromise with wayfair because I was not confident a 3rd table wouldnt also be damaged and I was really attached to the length of the table because I have a large dining area. Table was delivered today. Three weeks ahead of the estimated delivery, about 6 weeks after I ordered it. I paid extra for assembly and in-place delivery and I think it was worth the extra cost because the delivery guys were great and fast. Table doesn’t have any scratches or marks. I ordered the aurora color and it’s a bit darker than I’d hoped. I thought it would match my existing chairs more closely. The finish is so dark that the wood grain doesn’t show through. I don’t hate the finish, just not what I was expecting. Difficult to tell from pictures online. It appears to be a good, solid, well-made piece of furniture. I gave it 4 stars because the table is nice but deducted a star for not being able to tell the true color of the finish from the online photos. Update the aurora color table was just too dark so I returned it and ordered the flax color. Wayfair made the return easy because they had it picked up for a reasonable charge. Returning the original table cost me a bit of money but I’m happy with the flax color. The color is a bit lighter than the samples shown on the website. Exactly as shown on the website. Heavy. Substantial. Goes really well with some chairs from Wayfair that we love too. PAY ATTENTION TO THR CARE WARNINGS! This table shows grease very easily and it’s hard to clean. A mixture of vinegar and water helps but we’ve had stubborn stains created in our first two weeks of use. Use placemats!
