Assembly of this bench requires absolutely no tools as it completely snaps together. We did use a soft mallet to tap the pieces in place. It takes two people to hold pieces in place while you’re snapping them. Don’t try to assemble this by yourself. I’m not sure how waterproof it is because I am keeping it under a covered patio. The directions were awful. The parts are labeled, but the lettering was black on black so it took us over 10 minutes just to locate the black lettering on black. Can't beat this deck box for the price. Excellent value. Assembly is straightforward and all parts are labeled. The 90 gal. size (in some places it says 82 gal.) was just enough to fit 6 dining cushions and pillows. It is sturdy enough for being this light but I wouldn't say this is a heavy duty and sturdy box that will take abuse such as sitting on it or kids jumping on it. Seems to be very sturdy. The hinges on the lid are great. They hold the top open so you can load things into the bin. Bought it to store cushions from a patio set will easily hold 12 cushions size of each is 24 x 24” with room for a few more items.
