Nude Male Garden Fountain

This classic statue evokes timeless beauty in the idyllic form of one of Rome's great men. Cast directly from the original scaled Roman statue of ca. 50 B.C. by the sculptor Kleomenes. The Nude male statue, erroneously identified as Germanicus, a member of the family of the Emperor Augustus, probably should be considered a portrait of a member of a wealthy family of the late Republic. It is here represented with a body copied from a well-known statue of the god Hermes (Mercury), the Orator, which stood in Athens. This nude male sculpture is executed in the classicizing style popular in the 1st century B.C. when sculptors like Kleomenes looked for inspiration to the masters of the 5th and 4th centuries in Greece. Beautiful fountain with excellent quality! Its very heavy, but thats to be expected given the solid construction, and the weight is clearly noted in the product specifications. The touch of copper is a fun little accent, and the overall design has a charming old-world European feel—exactly what I was looking for. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons 1. Pump speed It has three speed settings, but I didnt notice any difference in the water flow between them. The three-tier waterfall is a bit louder than I expected for my small patio, so I was hoping to be able to reduce the flow. That said, the sound is still lovely, and Im very happy with it overall. 2. This fountain made a great addition to my yard. It is well made and installation was easy. I wired the lights into my existing low voltage patio lights for convenience as it comes with separate cords for the pump and lights.
