Like some of the other reviews mentioned, it does take some time, but I chose to build it in sections over two days, which made the process very manageable. I was able to assemble almost the entire bed myself. My husband only had to help me carry the bookcase sections upstairs because of their size. For the price, I think this bed is an excellent value. It completely changed the look and feel of my daughters room and gives her a fun, cozy setup that she genuinely enjoys. I purchased this bed for occasional use in a smaller guest room, and it works well for that and looks attractive. The complaints about the headboards being wiggly and not coming together at the corner are completely deserved. I actually had to bolt the headboards together because they simply did not seem sturdy enough for guests to lean and relax against and the gap looked bad. Also, the instructions are bad, treacherously bad. Do yourself a favor and read the entire directions several times though because the diagrams are not sufficiently drawn on every step to know which direction the headboard feet are supposed to be installed. Also, if you dont have a ratchet with hex keys, you will absolutely want one to save your sanity. If this bed came pre assembled and the headboards came togetherdidnt wiggle, it would be 55. As experienced in reality - minus one star for having inadequate instructions and minus one star for forcing me to drill through and bolt the headboards together with a heavy duty 5 bolt.. Anonymous. This was a tried and true product review. It came packaged in one box very well no damage took about an hour to put together for one person,not super happy with the canopy. Love the look of the bed, and easy to assemble. As long as your kids decide not to hang or climb the frame, you should be ok. The cutoff in the fabric is cool, but unsure how to secure it and have it stay in place without sewing additional ties/loops, or maybe velcro. To be fair, this could be caused by the way we attached the fabric, unsure. But the picture helps indicate that the flap doesn't reach, allowing it to sway. The lights add nice ambiance, but for us, because the bed is flush against the wall covering the outlet, a slim profile adapter that had the plug for the lights facing down would have been preferred. Also, I am unsure if there is a switch for the lights (couldn't find one), forcing you to unplug them each time. We chose to use an old external battery with an on/off button, but a smart plug would solve this issue. We purchased a Nectar children's mattress that fits perfectly.
