I selected this particular table because the wood grain was real and not simulated. I was not disappointed! Assembly involved screwing 4 bolts per leg into threaded insert on the underside of the table top. They even provided a hex drive for a cordless screwdriver to expedite assembly. One curious element was how the legs were strapped into the back of the table with staples — which detracted from my perceived vale of the table. This is a heavy 30" coffee table. Very easy to put together. I did it by myself - maybe 20 min. tops? Wood is nice - I think acacia wood which is sturdy. If you like the style it looks very much as pictured. I have 63" between the sofa chaise ends, and could have taken a 34 or 35" round, but I didn't want to have to scoot around it every time we sat down. 30" gives a place for things. This is a great little coffee table. It is rather small so check the dimensions carefully. It works well in my tiny living room though. I didn’t give it five stars because the lift mechanism isn’t very smooth and it feels like it’s going to break or something and if you don’t have anything in the table you have to hold it still to pull out the lift or it scoots towards you instead of opening. Also it doesn’t lift very high at all, it’s only a couple of inches away from my knees if I scooted it to be over them. Overall though a nice small coffee table with decent storage space.. Morgan.
