Your average cheap mattress, definitely much less supportive and not as firm as your typical firm mattress, but as to be expected for the price. Doesn’t fluff up evenly or as nicely as you’d think if you’ve ever bought a quality bagged mattress you know what I mean. Fabric is super loose and not fitted to the mattress and the mattress does get that dipping effect when two people lay on it at the same time. Not the best, but not the worst either. I bought two of these for a pop-up trundle bed for guest use since it claimed to join into a king size bed. That is a different story. These mattress came vacuum-sealed and expanded to almost full size by the time I got the plastic off. The topper is nice material and can be zipped off for easy cleaning. I gave the mattresses about two days to fully expand and was surprised at how firm they are. Most "firm" mattresses are not very firm; however, I weigh just under 200lbs and I sunk in about a half-inch. It is a soft kind of firm, not a hard, cheap couch kind of firm. My wife laid on the top one and she was equally, pleasantly surprised. That says a lot, coming from her, as she has a bad hip and is very particular when it comes to mattresses. The packaging was simple and easy to open, which I appreciated right away. Unlike some boxed mattresses that practically explode the moment the plastic is cut, this one expands in a much calmer and safer way. It slowly drew in air and took about two hours to really look like a mattress, then continued settling overnight until it reached its full shape. Comfort wise, this mattress definitely lives up to its extra firm description. It has very little give, yet feels supportive rather than hard. The breathable foam construction also helps it feel comfortable through the night. I chose the 10” thick version and think it would be especially good for a bunk bed, daybed, trundle, RV, or guest room where a dependable low profile mattress is needed.
