Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. We’re very happy with this bed! The white color looks clean and fresh, and it fits perfectly in our space. The wood material is very nice and feels sturdy and well made. The storage drawers underneath are a great feature, especially since they’re on wheels and are easy to pull out and use. Excellent quality, super sturdy and very easy to assemble!!! My boys ages 11 and 9 helped me (their mom) build it in just a few hours! It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with absolutely no extra hardware incase a piece is broken or gets lost during set up, not a single extra bolt, screw or wooden dowel, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase!!. The trundle is NOT full size!! Every description on the website says full bed with trundle, full bed with trundle, full bed, full bed. Nowhere does it note that the trundle is only a twin. So we purchased two full mattresses.. And couldn’t return them. Beware of that! UPDATE - we have had the bed foe a year now and every single slat under the bed is broken and one of the rails that holds the slats (the slats act as a “box spring” and hold the mattress up). That is just from normal wear and tear … not vigorous activity or jumping on the bed. I’m disappointed.
