I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. Very sturdy enclosed litter box. It has survived 3 moves across the country and is still in very good condition. Our cats love it. The one thing I will say about the glass is it can be a bit awkward making direct eye contact with your cat while they’re doing their business, but over the years the clay dust has kind of “frosted” the glass..
