I was in love the minute it came out of the box, really! The soft velvety material the fabulous teal color did it ) My son had it together quite quickly and the moment of truth arrived. Would it be too firm as some reviews said or would it be just fine as others said The truth turned out to be right down the middle! The first reaction was like sitting up in a straight back chair. Not what I wanted. However I wasn’t giving up that easily. I thought of what might help bring a bit more of a relaxing experience I found a 12” x 20” lumbar pillow and stuck it right at the base of the cushion, where a lumbar pillow would naturally go and it was just right! This is an elegant, firm sofa that was easy to assemble solo, and this is not something I usually do. I did have a friend help me flip it up onto its legs after assembly. The box arrived really beat up, and I had misgivings as I was unwrapping, but the contents were protected. I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. The assembly instructions are vague and misleading. You’ll need three strong, able bodied people to get the arms of the sofa attached to the back and in an entirely different manner than what is illustrated in the instructions. The bolt was not attached to the center leg support creating yet another ‘easy’ assembly obstacle … sigh. I'm giving 5 stars for looks, but really 3 for comfort. The back is great,but the seat is as hard as a board with a hump in the center for some reason.
