Comes largely put together and you have to slot in a couple of pieces and that is it. Took 15 mins with 2 of us. Fabric is surprisingly good for the price and is nice to the touch. The seat part of the sofa is not hard but not soft. I would say medium to soft but this is understandable given it is a sofa bed and I am overall very impressed with its comfort. Love my new sofa. It came neatly packaged and super easy to assemble myself. We tend to slide off the a little when sitting in the upright position due to the depth of the seat cushion being a bit narrow; however, once it breaks in over time I’m sure it will be more comfy. I love laying on it being that I am only 5’ tall. Only issue I had was that one of the cloth panels had a slight tear in in the corner but no one will ever see it bc it’s underneath the sofa..
