I purchased this cute mechanical Sewing machine after my Singer machine of 45 years died. I am amazed at how streamlined it is! Instead of threading the top thread through 12 or more screw eyes, I only need to do three things. I prefer to use a written instruction book to learn and I found the Janome one to be alright for ME, a seasoned sewer, but it would probably be to brief and very confusing for a newbie. Wasn’t bad putting it together. I think the assembly video can be edited to show more assembly steps and also maybe markpre-drill where some items need to go because I had to guess measurements and placement based on the video visuals. I've purchased a few items from Wayfair in the past, but I was in the middle of moving into my New Jersey apartment by myself, so things were too hectic to leave a review back then. However, I recently bought a Portable Hemming Machine and am so satisfied with it that I finally decided to write one. It’s the same brand I used to own. Although this is a slightly lower-tier model than my previous one, the price was about the same. I bought my old one in-store, but it’s really hard to find this specific brand and model from other suppliers right now. Plus, from my experience, other places usually have slow shipping. Since I needed it urgently, I went with Wayfair again based on my previous good experiences, hoping for fast delivery. I placed the order on Thursday afternoon, and it arrived right around noon today (Monday). The delivery was smooth and remembering how well all my previous Wayfair orders were delivered, I really want to thank everyone involved, including the supplier. I set up the machine today and tested it out—it works perfectly and is just as easy and convenient to use as my old one. the brother pq1600s is simply amazing!! this was a huge upgrade from my previous machine and quite a big investment for me and it was worth every penny! i’ve had it since the end of october and among all the little projects i’ve sewn, i just finished my first big quilt (90x90). the throat space was plenty big enough to get the whole thing through for straight line quilting and my machine never missed a beat. it’s so solid and powerful (but quiet!) and sews like a dream! even, perfect stitches every time. i am so excited to have this beautiful machine and i can’t wait to keep learning and improving..
