For me it’s limiting because the only way to turn it on is via the button on the wire at the base but where I have to plug it in the button is under other furniture. We have many of these in our house. They work very well to brighten our rooms that have not overhead lights. However, our third lamp in a row just died right after 5 years ( so all have been out of warranty and just past the 5 year mark). I love this lamp so much, more than I even expected to. It’s very easy to assemble and it looks so nice. The light is bright and the remote control allows you to adjust the brightness as well as color tone (cool or warm lighting). There’s a foot pedal for turning it on/off if you don’t want to use the remote. The lamp faces the up towards the ceiling so the light doesn’t shine right in your eyes, can also be tilted if you want to illuminate an area to the side or highlight something on the wall.
