This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. It took me three and a half hour to build, granted I was building it alone as a solo female. There was a period where the screws would not screw in to assemble both parts together, it was so frustrating and because of that I was stuck in the same step for over an hour. Love this bed. The headboard did come with a defect. It was very yellow in color and didn’t match the rest at all. But wayfair sent an entire new bed and I swapped the headboards and had them pick it back up. Easy enough. Glad I didn’t have to take the whole thing apart and try to fit back into the box or anything crazy. Set up was easy minus the headboard issue that delayed it a bit.
