As you sit in the chair an adjustable live lumbar™ zone flexes with your every move for consistent ergonomic support for your lower back, hour after hour, day after day. The Amia chair was designed by Steelcase in collaboration with industrial designer, Thomas Overthin of IDEO.

I LOVE my navy and silver task chair. The upholstery is perfect; very smooth for my sensitive skin. I cannot believe how lucky I am to have this ergonomic task chair with all the bells and whistles that work so easily. The lumbar feels so good on my back. The arms are so flexible to move any which way I need them to. The casters are perfect for my hardwood floor; I can flip from one area of my desk to the other freely. It was so easy to take the well-protected chair out of the packaging. It is a fantastic buy. The entire experience was exceptional and I am thrilled. Thank you Wayfair for selling Steelcase and thank you Steelcase for still being the #1 manufacturer of task chairs after all these many years! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!. Carolishca. Lake Worth, FL. The flexible seat edge offers a bit of bend, right where you need it – relieving pressure points under your thighs. This chair will arrive unassembled and require some assembly covered by the Steelcase warranty.

Chair is very high quality, it has a very solid feel and is really well made. Assembly took less than a minute and required no tools. Lots of seat adjustments and overall a great purchase. The only thing I'm not exactly crazy about is that the seat cushion is pretty hard and can get uncomfortable after a while. Overall I don't regret the purchase. Great chair.. Matt. Aurora, IL. Chair is well made, easy to assemble and firm enough to stay comfortable. One suggestion, when assembling the base do not tighten until back bolts are started, easier to align, once the bolts for the back are started then tighten all the bolts.. Richard. Seminole, FL. Tue Mar 29 2022

Comfortable. Arrived in many more parts and much more assembly required. Back is very comfortable but only adjustable by turning over and adjusting screws.. Trish. Sun Mar 08 2026

I am pleasantly surprised as to how comfortable this chair is. After first sitting in it I thought this chair is not going to be soft enough for me to sit in for 8 hours a day 5 days a week! I was wrong. It's wide enough that I don't feel the sides closing in on me and is very comfortable! No sore bottom, no back ache, nothing. My husband put the chair together for me but he said it was super easy. I use the chair at it's highest setting to fit under the desk and lower it to fit under the desk when done for the day. We'll see how long the hydraulics last but for now it works flawlessly. I'll update this later if things change. Got this chair to go with the Lengby Computer Writing Desk which I also love!. Debbie.
