This is by far the best market umbrella I’ve ever owned. I opted for the sunbrella fabric as it’s heavier than the other fabrics I’ve owned in the past (and did not last as long).This umbrella has a bronze colored pole and is operated by a hand crank although it does have an auto tilt feature. The auto tilt is amazing as you slowly keep cranking after the umbrella is fully extended, the auto tilt engages and the umbrella will automatically tilt. Once you start cranking in the opposite direction to close the umbrella, the auto tilt disengages and the umbrella stands upright so you can finish closing it. This umbrella is great for shading the picnic table. The scallop edge is fun and Im hoping the dark color doesnt fade too quickly in our ‘full sun’ backyard. I wish it came with a strap or ties so that when it was closed then you could fasten it closed but thats okay. The description mentioned that it has solar lights inside the shade () but the umbrella didnt come with directions so Im not sure how to activate them or if its even true. Pole diameter is 1.5” so standard if you’re sourcing your own base. Once I actually get a base and test it through some real sun/wind (it’s rated for 16 mph), I’ll update with the actual performance. This double umbrella is huge!!! It took up my large lanai , and provides some really good shade. Really heavy and good quality. But you must have some sandbags to put on the base so it has stability.
