This raised bed is nice. Much easier to setup than some of the other galvanized steel beds that have a million nuts and bolts.. just three per panel and the support bars screw in easily. These are PERFECT. I'm always hesitant to buy sight unseen but these are quality materials. Sturdy, heavy-weighted, and clean appearance. Relatively simple to put together. The cross bracing was a little confusing but pay attention to the fact that the top of the cross brace goes into the second hole down on each side, according to the illustration. Overall, worth the purchase. Putting these together? Let’s just say it counted as my workout for the week… and assembling metal garden beds is definitely not my preferred form of cardio. At first, I’ll be honest, they felt a little flimsy during assembly, and I had my doubts. They’re not built hefty like super thick industrial steel, but surprisingly, they are absolutely built sturdy. Case in point: we took down four trees, and a decent-sized branch smacked directly into the side of one of these beds and barely left a dent. That alone changed my opinion. Now that they’re up, filled, and doing their job, I’m happy with the purchase. While I’m not necessarily complaining about the price, I would definitely suggest waiting for a better deal. Solid product BUT significant defect is NO DRAINAGE HOLES. Without them, expect anything planted to sit in soggy roil and rot. Had to buy drill bit and drill it out myself. I used Vulcan brand #028365, which is a 7/16” bit (just shy of 1/2 inch), the largest bit that will fit on a standard drill. Any hole smaller will clog readily and be useless. This is an inexpensive home-user brand readily available at many hardware stores. “Speed steel with a 135 deg split point eliminates the need for center punch and keeps drill from skating on hard surfaces.” Recommended for metals, but package also states plastics. You want the split point to keep the drill from skidding on slick plastic surface. Pain in the neck, though. Why does anyone make a planter without drainage!!
