I have extremely hungry deer who are not picky unfortunately! The only truly effective measure is to wrap my precious trees and plants! Thank God there are some they dislike! I am not always home to sprinkle powder or spray deer repellent which are both effective. I bought ultrasonic lights were effective at first then the deer ignored them. The skunks did not appreciate my efforts though so I had to stop using! I avoided mesh because obvious reasons but it's the only sure proof method for me. This is the second type of mesh I've used. The first was more nylon type material and was a bit challenging to work with but super flexible. I wanted this type again but was unavailable so I went with a different one. This second mesh is stiffer and more of a wire consistency but cuts easily with scissors. I would say it is more for use with stakes. The major problem I had was wrapping things too tightly so be aware it's so easy to do and then it must be loosened. Also, the first nylon mesh catches on itself so unwrapping and rewrapping is almost impossible!. Jeanie. Cambridge, OH. Sat Jun 27 2026

Great investment in protecting my flock of ducks from nocturnal predators. I installed the XL Animal Barrier around my walk-in duck cage about 1 year ago. My toolshed has space underneath where my dog can crawl under. These animal barrier fence pieces did the job...he can't dig through them. Also, waited until after it rained to put them in the ground...much easier that way. Also tacked top with a screw to keep them from bending over. By the way, my dog is an 85 lb 15 month old black labrodor retriever...very strong. Billy. Cleveland, TN. Thu Sep 10 2026
