Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. This bed is GORGEOUS!!! Not planning on getting a new one but our mattress needed replacing and decided to upgrade to a king from a queen, hence the hunt for one. Looked at so many beds and glad ended up getting this one! It’s truly a beautiful piece and it is very heavy and sturdy. It looked like it cost more than at least double of what we paid for! This bed is BEAUTIFUL! It is quite low profile; however, it is sturdy and looks far more expensive than it is. Modern and elegant wi the out being overbearing. I’d prefer it to be a tad taller (floor to the top of the mattress is about 23”), but the low profile helps our accent wall stand out. Can’t speak to the longevity, but this was an excellent buy!!!.
