This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. I recently purchased the Ophelia Solid Wood Platform Bed in the Chalk finish (King size) and I couldn’t be happier. This bed is everything I wanted and more. I really like the bed frame. I specifically wanted a metal bed frame that would accommodate a mattress and box springs. Most metal bed frames are platform these days so the selection is rather sparse if you want to use a mattress and box springs. I just finished assembling it and it appears to be very sturdy for a metal frame. Assembly was very easy. Instructions were well written and all parts were included. The bed frame was packaged well and arrived with no damage. There were no defects in the frame. My only disappointment is in the color of the frame. The color was listed as bronze in the description but it is so very dark it looks more black than bronze. I decided to keep it as it would be such a hassle to return. This is great. Seems structurally stable. Easy to put together. Two complaints. The silver metal bolts are visible on the outside of the posts, so I’m spray painting those to match the frame. The bigger complaint is that the mattress slides. The bottom rails are smooth and flush. there’s no recessed area for the mattress to sit in to keep it in place. It is a very pretty and sturdy bedframe. I took a star off because they were not pre-drilled holes for some screws and that was unclear in the directions. It took me one hour and and and 45 minutes to put it together as one person. Also two of the side pieces were the same so I had to unscrew the brackets and switch them so they would become opposite side frames.
